About This Charter
Maximum of 4 Passengers Swordfish is Captain Pedro’s favorite species to target. Ever since his first sword, Captain Pedro could only think about catching the next one. Swordfish is an incredible bucket list fish, and they also make for excellent table fair. On our swordfish trips, we will head off to the continental shelf commonly referred to as the swordfish grounds. We might travel anywhere between 20 – 45 miles as we head out to find the best area where the fish have been biting. Once we arrive, we will set up our boat with multiple harpoons and gaff hooks to ensure we are ready. Once we have set this up, we will rig the baits on two Lindgren Pitman electric reels and begin our day. We will generally fish two lines and drift from 1200’ – 2000’ feet of water. We use between 8-12 pounds of lead on each rod and a combination of artificial and natural baits. This will be a hands-on charter, from the arrival, Captain Pedro will be teaching you how to rig the baits and deploy the baits on the tip and buoy rod along with showing you what to look for in a swordfish bite. During the spring and summer months, Mahi-Mahi is a common catch while out fishing for swordfish. We can target them on the way to and from the swordfish grounds and flat line another line out of the back of the boat while fishing for swordfish.
Cancellation Policy
REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS: $500 from the total payment is considered a deposit for the trip. Deposits are non-refundable, unless the charter is canceled due to rough weather (not rain) or your cancellation is received 14 days prior to your charter date. Should the captain determine that the weather and seas are too rough for your charter to go out you will be offered the option of rescheduling. In the event that rescheduling is not a possibility, you will be refunded your deposit. Rain is not considered a reason to cancel a charter, and vessels will sail on a rainy day. We will try and communicate it to you as soon as possible but sometimes it is difficult to get an accurate weather reading too far in advance. We should be able to make a determination on weather cancellations 2-3 days prior to your charter. Bookings made within 30 days of the scheduled trip are not refundable.
